A clear starting point.
Exterior Walls
- Visible cracks in brick, stucco, or siding (note width & length)
- Stair-step cracks following mortar lines in brick
- Gaps between exterior walls and trim/windows
- Chimney leaning or separating from the house
Doors & Windows
- Doors that stick, drag, or won't latch properly
- Gaps at the top or bottom of door frames
- Windows that are difficult to open or close
- Cracks extending from window or door corners
Interior Floors & Walls
- Sloping or bouncy floors (use a level or marble test)
- Cracks in drywall, especially above doors/windows
- Cracks where walls meet ceilings
- Uneven gaps between baseboards and flooring
Garage & Foundation
- Cracks in the garage floor or foundation slab
- Separation between garage walls and slab
- Moisture or water intrusion near the foundation
- Soil pulling away from the foundation perimeter
